No it's not about gotchas it's about the sheer fact that the covid response was a FUBAR from start to finish. Fear was used to get some people very rich and people lost their lives and livelihoods because of it and no one will be made to pay for it. That's the saddest thing of all.

Yeah, a lot of people in America see any disaster as a chance to fleece the benevolence of their fellow tax payers and the Government is hardly the most competent at disbursing funds in an emergency. It's so frustrating.

We as a nation wanted to do right in the middle of a once-in-a-century disaster and somehow we couldn't even keep it together for that.

The lockdowns were not a bad idea. Experts in public health were struggling to figure out the best option for a highly communicable and reasonably scary disease. Ironically it feels like we didn't learn ANYTHING from the 1918 Flu pandemic. And even if we did, those measures would be objected to by the "Freeeeeeeeeeedom" folks who think anyone asking them to even do the least to get along with others and help out was TOO MUCH TO ASK of them.
