Anybody else notice the DOW is now down YTD?

And the price of oil is up.
up over $103 a barrel .

Marketwatch has crude futures at 103/bbl this morning, or up 13.43%. I didn't check the accuracy of this, but on the news the other day it was claimed that every dollar rise in crude equates to 2 cents per gallon of gasoline. Before taxes.

Just got this.
Gas prices are influenced by the price of crude oil. Historically, gasoline prices increase by approximately $0.024 per gallon for every $1 increase in crude oil prices. This means that if the price of crude oil rises by $1, you can expect gas prices to rise by about 2.4 cents per gallon. Additionally, the cost of crude oil accounts for about 47% of the retail gasoline price in 2025.

Reading the morning news it said gas could hit $4. a gallon if not more in a few days.
Hang on this is going to be a wild ride.

All for a vanity war for the Chickenhawk-in-Chief. :(

Oh, and to distract us from Epstein.
IMO it is more about distracting us from the Epstein files and the bad / worsening economy.
When gas prices go up like this it effects the cost of everything.
It is a fact IF you bought it at some time it or parts that made it were on a truck and with fuel going up you can bet truckers are going to raise their price and pass the increase on to the consumer.
My dad may he RIP, owned a trucking company and years ago when fuel costs went up so did his prices.

I'll pay a little more for gas and coffee for a bit In exchange for safety and peace.... Lots of sales people ...buy your gas where you get perks.... This isn't difficult...

Only gets upset when the prices of vodka and orange juice rises.

Of course. You can't stay in business if you don't pass along at least some inflationary price rises to your customers. Gasoline prices aren't included when the rate of inflation is calculated. But as you said, it affects everything downstream.

The very epitome of a Tory, a good 1930s German frau, a subservient bootlicker.

Say, Toxic, whatever happened to last year's chant of "everything is fine. You can get coffee on sale or use coupons"? Oops. lol
