JPP MAGAtards hoot and holler about depression higher among libs, but what they are too deluded to understand are the reasons why.
In other studies, it was postulated that the reason was traditional conservatives are more religious and their faith gave them comfort in a chaotic world. JPP MAGAtards are not religious nor happy as their whining, bitching and spewing of hate proves daily. They would be the outliers in those studies. The Abbie Normals.
Your link is interesting including this statement:
"The researchers analyzed surveys collected from more than eighty-six thousand twelfth graders over a thirteen-year period and discovered that while rates of depression have been rising among students of all political persuasions and demographics, they have been increasing most sharply among progressive students — and especially among liberal girls from low-income families."
Women are more empathetic than men. They are also more nurturing. These natural traits can lead to more depression. All MAGAtards are evil. They only have sympathy for themselves and, thus, are animals to be controlled, if not put down as a danger to others. Notice all the death threats and other threats of violence on JPP against members are from MAGAtards.
Too bad the mothers of all JPP MAGAtards weren't less nurturing and simply drowned them in the bath as babies. It would have saved them both money and grief plus left the world a better place.
Evidence suggests that there are differences in the capacity for empathy between males and females. However, how deep do these differences go? Stereotypically, females are portrayed as more nurturing and empathetic, while males are portrayed as less ...

Empathy – the ability to understand and share in the internal states of others – is a complex, multidimensional phenomenon that includes a number of functional processes, including emotion recognition, emotional contagion, and emotion priming, as well as the abilities to react to the internal states of others, and to distinguish between one’s own and others’ internal states....
...The construct of empathy is relevant to several disciplines, from psychology and neuroscience, to behavioral economics and animal behavior. For years, theories on altruism and kin selection have emphasized the selfish nature of humans and other animals. However, the ‘selfish gene’ paradigm faced serious challenges to the idea that individuals are complex organisms whose activities ultimately function to increase reproductive success, and do so through careful calculations of costs and benefits. Work on primates and other animals has shown that individuals prefer to act prosocially and in cooperation, they need to repair relationships after conflicts, support each other when in need, and ask for comfort because they know that companions are sensitive to their own pain and suffering. Interestingly, most of these examples do not necessarily imply genetic relatedness or reciprocal benefits.
66% of women say that in the past year, they have personally thought at least some about big questions; 55% of men report the same.
