Anyone else ever felt this way?

Delivery takes a lot longer here, but you can order the stuff for pick-up and not have to set foot in there. They bring it out to your car. I quit going there when the pandemic began and haven't missed it at all.

If our local walmart has it at the store and you order online before 11 am, it is delivered by a delivery person from walmart by the evening. They text when it is out for delivery and when it has been delivered (with a photo of it placed at your front door)

The benefits of living in civilization! Happy Veterans Day, btw, and thank you for your service.

Frank,....quick question. How do you determine a foreign looking person? There are millions and millions of Latino, Asian, middle eastern, Indian, ect ect born and raised right here in the USA making them NOT foreign by definition.

Not really sure, Stone. But it seems to me that most of the American born Latinos (for instance) are not manning check-out booths. Same thing with Asian Indians. Strangely, almost 100% of the visible staff of the two Walmart's near me are Asian Indians...whom I, perhaps erroneously, figure to be recent immigrants. Here in New Jersey we do not pump our own gas at gas stations. I have not had gas put in my car by anyone other than an Indian in a couple of years.

Had to run into my least favorite place in the world today,.....Walmart. Almost ALL self checkout now and just a few lanes with checkers. I always go through the self check out, no big deal, faster. BUT NOT TODAY! Almost got into one of the self check lanes and all of a sudden I thought...." NO,...HELL NO, damn it all! I want to actually be served and taken care of instead of herded thru some damn line like cattle where I end up having to do all the work MYSELF and give them my money on top of it all! "......" Im a 58 year old man who has worked hard most of his life and I want to be treated with the respect I damn well deserve!" . And into the line I went where they worked FOR ME. Think Im gonna keep doing it too. :)

Next you are going to want Murphy's to pump your gas and clean your windshield.

Well then, why don't you just call in your order for pickup?

They have those shoppers now, who fill your order then, not only bring it to you in your car without you even having to go in the store, but you get to use special reserved parking spaces right near the front entrance. So no driving around looking for a spot.

Aside from that, if you insist on going inside, doing your own shopping and having a cashier total it up for you because you demand extra luxuries, you might as well go all the way and use one of those "Mart Cart" electric buggies

You can sit on your ass and leisurely cruise up and down the aisles while having everyone get out of your way and treat you with extra politeness because they assume you're handicapped.

Thats how it was when I was a kid. Awesome. My Dad would pull into Texaco,....guy comes running out in a little green suit. Washes your windows, checks your oil and other fluids and adds if needed, checks your tires with the gauge he carries in his front pocket, fills up your tank with gas and says thank you sir...come again! All for 65 cents a gallon! Hell yeah!

Well, when lazy, uncaring workers want to be paid like corporate executives for their useless skills, this is what you get. Corporations in business to make money fire them and replace them with computers. You get treated badly either way, it's just the computer doesn't care more than the useless register clerk you went to.
