AP News: poll, Many Voters Blame Democrats for Government shutdown

I see you can't name one benefit that the undocumented get that citizens don't.

Actually, he was being held illegally by ICE.
Under federal law, officers initiating warrantless arrests must provide the person in custody a reason why they were arrested or detained and within 48 hours determine if the person will remain in custody, be released on bond or be given a notice to appear in court after an arrest warrant is issued.

And because the government caused his injury we have paid over $400,000 for this stupidity by the Trump administration for private guards and medical care.
they shouldn't be equal to citizens.

Mar 12, 2025 — In 2022 America's 10.9 million undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in taxes. That included $19.5 billion in federal income taxes...HOPE YOU GREAT WHITE HOPE MOTHERFUCKERS ARE READY TO PICK UP THE SLACK!!
And they have more kids that we educated at the average tune of 16,000 a kid each year. And they use use our police and fire services and we pay to keep a bunch of the in prison at an average cost of 30K per year per prisoner. .

The bottom line studies show the American tax payer is on the hook for $150.666.230.00 after their taxes are considered.

That's exactly what Republicans want...affordable care for Americans...it's not very affordable now, is it?
Do you know why?
Check out what is given to illegals/undocumented...and what is denied to American citizens, particularly veterans... Americans first...right? Who do you think is paying for those who are not here legally?
Find me the Democrat outlets that explain that we, the taxpayers, aren't...Please...;)
Much more affordable than before Obamacare.

“Republicans are spiking health insurance premiums by 75% for everyday Americans” if they don’t extend enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

Our ruling

Clark said, "Republicans are spiking health insurance premiums by 75% for everyday Americans" if they don’t extend enhanced ACA subsidies.

If the Republican-controlled Congress does not extend Affordable Care Act enhanced subsidies before they expire at the end of this year, enrollees would have to pay more.

KFF analysis of federal data found that the average increase in out-of-pocket coverage cost would be 79%, with state-by-state average increases ranging from 49% to 195%.

This cost increase would come from a combination of insurance premium increases and the disappearance of subsidies, rather than from "spiking health insurance premiums" alone.

The statement is accurate but needs clarification. We rate it Mostly True.

The old and the poor will die because of republicans. Looks like TOP is fucked.
Why don't you explain exactly how?

The Republicans have passed a continuation spending bill. Do you know what that means? No, of course not. It means that 99% of all Republicans have voted to continue funding the government at previous spending levels held over from the Biden administration, just like the Dems have done 13 times. Ninety-eight percent of the Democrats have voted to shut down the government unless they get 1.5 trillion dollars for shit they couldn't get done using the democratic system. I'll stop there. I know I've already given you too much to grasp at once, but try hard. I'm here to help clarify any areas you're struggling with.

The Democrats are about to find out, yet again, that the common, working class American Voters are not easy marks for manipulation and extortion.

They will be rejected by the voters, due to their attempts to extort $1.5T of spending we cannot afford.

That's how a Democratic Republic Works!

-
There is no such thing as a 'democratic republic'. That's an oxymoron.

A democracy is government by popular vote. It has no constitution, and no representatives. In other words, a democracy is mob rule. It is an unstable form of government, which usually quickly dissolves into an oligarchy or dictatorship (Athens became a dictatorship).

A republic is government by law (a constitution), that SPECIFIES what representatives there are and how they are to be elected.
Just because a representative happens to be elected by popular vote as specified in a constitution, that does NOT make it a democracy in any way, shape, or form.

The United States is a federated republic (layers of government, each republics, with each their own constitution).

Big damn difference, you get the rewards of tax dollars, they don't. Few use social services out of fear and trust me, housing prisoners of any race is worth the cost.

And he has brought interest rates down and mortgage rates down. And soon they will go down even more.

Gasoline prices have fallen since January 20th

Wages have increased, with nominal wages (pay before inflation) rising faster than prices since May 2023, meaning real wages have started to grow again.

He only labeled violent anti fascist as terrorist.

He hasn't declared war on any one in fact he has stopped multiple wars.
I TRIPPLE DOG DARE YOU TO GOOGLE JOBS LOSS AND JOB CREATIONS SINCE TRUMP TOOK OFFICE. HE MURDERED THE TOURIST INDUSTRY, SO JOBS WERE NOT ONLY NOT CREATED THIS YEAR, BUT A LOT OF SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS CLOSED SHOP. It is difficult to provide an exact number of major US companies losing business this year, as "losing business" can be measured in various ways like revenue decline, bankruptcy, store closures, or layoffs. However, hundreds of large companies have made significant cuts, including layoffs, store closures, and high-profile bankruptcies. For example, over 2,700 retail stores have closed so far in 2025, and 446 large companies filed for bankruptcy in 2024, a number on track to be significantly higher than 2020 levels, say Business Insider, YouTube, and CNN.

The Shutdown is not popular, but the blame from the voters is mixed, and much more against the Democrats than any previous shutdown.

Things are not going the way the Democratic Leadership expected in this shutdown.

In past shut downs, the GOP took the majority of the blame, but not this time.

Initially, the Democrat Voters thought forcing a shutdown would allow them to force their demands, particularly for free stuff for illegals.

The Voters Blame both sides about equally, and about a third Blame BOTH parties.

But! It is an ill wind indeed that blows good to no man!

What if they shut the government down, and it just died, and never came back?

Well, maybe not the whole government, but large chunks of it.

So, what is your short list, the top three things you hope die in this shut down?

I'll go first,

1] USAID, and any other form of Foreign Aid.

2] Federal level Dept. of Education. Just kill it. The States should run education, and no one else.

3] Any form of Benefit, including health care, for any Illegal.

So, what's you short list?

-
You should be aware the no poll replaces history.

Democrats did shut the government down, making the kinds of demands you mention.

Senator Kennedy described is best: Until Democrats take their egos out back to shoot them, the shutdown will continue.

Since you welch on bets, No bet.

Now to you claims:

The 'tourist industry' has not really diminished. People still travel, they just go to different places now. Places like Las Vegas were particularly hard hit, since they can't seem to get their head wrapped around what made 'Vegas popular at all.

. HE MURDERED THE TOURIST INDUSTRY,
You can't murder an industry.
SO JOBS WERE NOT ONLY NOT CREATED THIS YEAR,

Quite a few. New factories are opening in lots of industries.
BUT A LOT OF SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS CLOSED SHOP.
That was caused by the Covid Hoax, perpetuated by DEMOCRATS...or unchecked crime, also perpetuated by DEMOCRATS.
It is difficult to provide an exact number of major US companies losing business this year, as "losing business" can be measured in various ways like revenue decline, bankruptcy, store closures, or layoffs.
Okay. Let's discuss some of these:

Places like Microsoft, Google, and even Amazon have reduced staff due to the improved nature of AI, which can replace what that staff can do.
Places like Tesla are hiring, because they are entering the robot market and working to improve AI.
Once the robots hit the streets, those are in low skill jobs, like retail clerk or cash register clerk, fast food worker, etc. will be replaced by robots, which are easy to train for these jobs, and can be managed by a single person (the owner of the fast food establishment).

So get used to it, Luddite. Robots are coming, AI is here and it's improving, and the unskilled and low skilled are at most risk. You're gonna have to get trained or go unemployed.

Microsoft in particular is paying for it's bad product now. Their bad handling of upgrades and poor customer support is hitting them where it hurts: their wallet.

Government, particularly the federal government has been bloated beyond reason for decades. This is what is driving the firing of so many federal employees. They don't produce anything. They only consume.

Several retail chains have closed stores, especially in the inner cities, where crime is a continuing problem, now even taking the form of open looting. There is no way to make a profit in such a scenario, so these stores are closing.

The recreational drug trade is booming. Of course, these are illegal jobs, so that risk is on you. Further, such jobs are often racked with violence and gang warfare.

The health industry is booming. It's from the Boomers, which are retiring, growing older, and needing all that health care. In addition, occupational clinics have appeared to handle the increasing demand for drug testing by employers.

Several factories have opened up or are now under construction that will be hiring those skilled in silicon chip manufacture.

The garbage quality houses built recently are losing value, and fast.

The construction industry is booming. Many people are improving their land and property.

The weapons industry is booming. A lot more people want to buy guns and ammunition for them, either for recreational use (target shooting), or self defense or pest control purposes. Hunting doesn't seem to be seeing any increased popularity though.

The world is a'changing. Best you change with it, or you will be left behind in the unemployment line, hoping for some money from the government you Democrats shut down.
