Apples real concern

Free, all anetheiologists charge the same, I did look into it. I also changed dentist when he starting charging 10% above what my insurance would pay. Found an even better dentist as a result.

Bud's job does not involve other people's lives, like a doctor's does.

Doctors' occupation involves others lives and to make it so that people can not afford care, to me, that is criminal, and they are also turning away people with government insurance. You better make sure you have a doctor who will care for you when you go on Medicare!

Doctor's aren't the worst offenders in medicine, it is the insurance companies!

Did you mean anesthesiologists?

I can respond to your post #19, when I'm sure who you meant.

Buds' job impacts all those ebay purchases though and the lives of those you buy from...LOL Imagine if his wallet was regulated and he had to share it with the less fortunate- you’d be lost in how to feed your misery by shopping!

After listening to Apple continually rail against the Health Care issues of the US, I believe I've finally figured out what's driving him.

He's worried about the failing Canadian Health Care system and is afraid that if the US doesn't adapt it's system to mirror Canada's, that Canada will adopt a system similar to that in the US.

Let me start by saying I'm flattered to have my name in a thread title. :)

As to your comment that is quite funny because every country with a universal plan started out with a system identical to the one in the US., a "pay or suffer" system. Every country started out like that. No exception. Not ONE exception.

That's what is so strange about this entire discussion. Every country started out the exact same way and every country that changed to a universal plan has maintained it. Every one. Not ONE exception.

(Msg 3) You might want to take a look at some of the things that have failed and are failing.

The first thing you might want to take a look at is this chart. http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds...xpectancy#met=sp_dyn_le00_in&idim=country:USA

Click on the countries with universal health plans and observe the life expectancy compared to the US. If we're going to talk about health care plans surely the first point to consider is life expectancy. After all, isn't the purpose of any health care plan to keep people alive as long as possible?

When it comes to what's failed or failing I would say a lower life expectancy, dying younger, is a huge failure. Wouldn't you?

(Msg 16) Most doctors struggle to make it through 8+ years of College and then to start a practice so deep in debt, that it would smother most of us;

Which brings us to the "reform" in "health care reform". Many countries with universal health care have either lower or subsidized university costs resulting in doctors being less in debt when they start practicing.

The object is to remove the financial scalping, first by universities, then by the doctors. However, in order to make changes one has to know the objective.

For example, the government couldn't subsidize medical training and then when the doctor graduated he/she proceeded to charge outrageous prices.

The ideal situation would be to have a comprehensive program covering educational costs along with universal coverage but we all know that would never come about so it has to be taken one step at a time and Obama has taken the first step.

Longer life expectancy. Lower costs. Not one country has reverted to the "pay or suffer" health care system. The citizens of every country insist on keeping their government/universal health care. There is not one prominent political party/politician campaigning on dismantling a country's universal plan..........

What is not clear?

I see you decided to have a big bowl of "Bitch-O-Wheat" this morning, for breakfast.

what do their foreign counterparts malpractice premiums look like in comparison?
I don't know, but I can find out! I really do know that doctors aren't the problem it is the whole system and health care for profit! It taints the whole thing! I believe insurance companies are the biggest bad guys!
