Are there actually any legit SCARY movies out there that are actually GOOD?

Preferably not old movies, but I'll take what I can get.

I don't think steven king stuff is scary. Or any hitchcock stuff.

My daughter says the paranormal witness movies are funny as hell, so that can't be it. I can't help you man, I've never been scared at a movie. Sometimes surprised but actually scared? Nope.

I thought The Shining was pretty scary but if you don't like Stephen King scratch that.

My favorite horror movie is John Carpenters "The Thing". Then there's "Henry, portrait of serial Killer" which is really messed up. If you like Lawrence Fishburne you' like "Event Horizon." Audition is pretty fucked up too. I think Tom would like it...or die from watching it.

But my all time favorite horror movie isn't scary in the least. In fact I laughed so hard I nearly ruptured myself. That's Sean of the dead." It's freaken hillarious.

I found the first half of the Shining to be boring but Nicholson is freaken brilliant as a man going insane and when he does go off his rocker...it's pretty intense from a suspense standpoint.

There are no scary movies now. There are those that startle you, but as an adult I am no longer frightened by movies.

1408 is pretty damned scary, also Hostel as well.

I saw 1408, this kind of movie doesn't scare me because there's no element of fact in it. The idea that a room can be evil just makes me laugh.
