I'll repeat what my Grandpa Crozier said at 94 in the hospital a couple of days before he died:

"My wife is gone, all of my friends are gone, my sibs are gone.....I am ready to go".

In every case of people who manage to get old, they're usually ready to die; same with those who suffer from horrible diseases or are crippled badly. So, no reason to fear death. Murder victims are an entirely different story, and the penalty for murder should be death, regardless of whether the racial mix is skewed or not.

Think so?

Don't know anybody who didn't want to go to a hospice when their future was limited to lying in a bed with 50 tubes attached to them and they couldn't move.

Your lived experience is hardly universal, is it?

Unwillingness to die is not fear of dying, is it?

The only real fear of dying comes from the lack of being able to experience life. Talking to friends and family, seeing a beautiful sunset, reading a good book, etc. The fear can also come from regret for all the things you wished you had done while alive.

When you're dead, you aren't going to know you're dead. You won't be able to know or experience anything, including sadness, regret, desire, etc. That being the case, there is no reason to fear death.
