Andf I am genuinely a bit perplexed about that question.
I mean did thay have the same problem with the first automobiles as they do with electric cars, with no service stations to refuel them or repair them....
Increasing fuel efficiency in autos, increasing efficiency in home heating/cooling and appliances, developing alternative energy sources...
They gripe about all of those things.

I wouldn't know, I'm a radical centerist. Probably the same reason most lefties oppose nuclear power.. because most voters are proles and therefore vote based on emotion.
