Most Christians no longer believe that the earth is 6000 years old. Setting that aside, to believe that ones belief is irrational is in itself irrational (unless that belief results in maniacal behavior), and shows ones own insecurity in their beliefs. Kind of like mocking one (kristyuns) for their beliefs. Childish, and irrational.
I'm interested in talking about the maniacal behaviour. Teaching children to believe in sky fairies sadly goes far past that. It's child abuse.
But it's not your fault. The reason many reasonably intelligent people can never escape religious indoctrination is the same reason a baby duckling will imprint on a fox for it's mother. You were indoctrinated at an early age and it's likely going to stay with you for the rest of your life.
Or do you know it's an evil fraudulent trick to bilk you out of money?
