You can pretty much be sure that most of the Russians who went to Israel will be back in Russia soon, or at least their kids and grandkids will be. My Russian friends tell me there's a lot more freedom in Russia. The police don't stress over petty crimes. They have more important things to do. Our police state makes it impossible for people to defend themselves. That's what I love about Texas.

I got out 1987....turned out to be one of the very good things that has happened to me....my brother got out 1994.

My parents built a house in 1974....when my mom sold it 1996 it in constant dollars had lost about 40% of its value and it was not because the house was in bad condition.....the jobs had gone away and the neighborhood was run down with lots of drugs.

The upper Midwest built about EVERYTHING. Still does for the most part even though manufacturing has been dwindling for decades. Here in Wisconsin we built just about every product conceivable. One thing about the upper Midwest that still holds true,.....our people can move just about anywhere in the country and find well paying blue collar jobs just about as soon as they get there. The work ethic in this region is legendary and very desirable.
