Israel did attack the USS Liberty, but it was not a false flag operation. The plane flew the Israeli Flag, and Israel never denied it.

The Israeli plane did not attack for political gain. There was no possible political gain to be had by attacking the USS Liberty. It may have been an accident, or it may have been to cover up information.

Just a decade earlier during the '56 Suez Canal crisis, ... the U.S. sided with the Arabs and the Soviets ... against Israel, France, and Britain.

Because of that, IMO, the Israelis did not trust us.

Israel did pay millions in compensation to the U.S. for the "wrongful" incident.
