atheists go to heaven: the Pope

I always laugh at them, because if Catholics aren't Christians, then Christ lived 2000 years ago, but there were no Christians until sometime in the past 500 years.

Those who followed Christ and His teachings were simply called believers, whether they were Jews, Gentiles or pagans who came to Christ as their Savior.

I've said it before. There's a red line in religious teachings I won't cross, and that it presuming to know how God is going to judge people.
doesn't the Bible tell us precisely how God is going to judge people in John 3?.....
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

is that a red line?.....

The bible thumping fundy's don't realize sunday worship and jesus is named a god was instituted by the catholic church in 325 C.E at the Council of Nicaea

Actually, we do know. Revelation 20 talks of the Great White Throne and all unbelievers will be there.

Hallucination, or Divine Revelation?
"Madness" used to be considered an affliction of the spirit—demonic possessions, or Godly visions. Now it's treated as a medical issue. What does this mean for contemporary believers?

Indeed. I am actually shocked at how many evangelicals think Catholics are some kind of cult, certainly not Christians.

I have also blown many minds when I tell bible thumping evangelicals that the Eastern Orthodox is two thousand years old, really they are the original Christians...far more ancient than the Baptists or Pentacostals. Bible thumpers are literally incredulous when they hear that, and actually really don't even believe me.

The Bible tells us exactly how he judges and why. We kinda need to know that type of basic information as grow and learn his ways. We don't know EVERYTHING, but we do learn what he DOES want us to know.

Your interpretation doesn't allow for the belief that God is perfect, omniscient, omnipotent, and all-loving. You guys miss the forest because of your focus on the trees.

It's basically simple. A follower of Christ follows the teachings of Christ from the Holy Scriptures, not the man-made traditions and legalisms which many formulated later.

It is quite humorous when believers threaten non believers with eternal hell and agony as if that is going to sway us to becoming believers. Threats of violence...yeah that will win us over to believing in your vindictive petty jealous god.

^ Yep that's true. I've seen this bumper sticker that reads "Orthodoxy - Proclaiming the Truth Since A.D. 33"

And that'w what Catholics follow. I don't know what you mean by legalisms and man-made traditions. Seems like it could apply to a number of Protestant sects.
