Attack on a train in Germany

In a regional train from Treuchtlingen to Würzburg has on Monday night with an axe and armed men attacked several people a knife and partly heavily injured. The train has an emergency stop in Würzburg-Heidingsfeld, near the winter houses road. The police has a large contingent in Heidingsfeld locally, a police helicopter circles over the crime scene. The gunman was shot dead, a spokesman for the Bavarian Interior Ministry confirmed that in Munich.

The act occurred according to police spokesman Philipp Hümmer against 21 in train from Treuchtlingen to Würzburg. The armed men attacked the 20 passengers on the train. He was carrying a knife and an axe. The train made a unscheduled stop in Heidingsfeld. Three passengers were hard, one slightly injured. 14 are in shock. The offender escaped from the train and was shot on the run from forces. Identity, the police at present still no information can provide.

The railroad line Würzburg – Ansbach is closed, reports Deutsche Bahn. A rail replacement bus between Ochsenfurt, Würzburg Hbf is from around 22:30.
