balloon story

R.I.P. to the poor kid if this really happened...and the parents should be absolutely ashamed for not protecting this child. How awful. I've seen some bad parenting and it always breaks my heart, but this is really unbelievable. If it is a hoax then I'll be glad the child is ok but the parents should be held responsible and prosecuted to the greatest extent of the law.

There was a basket attached to the balloon that is nowhere to be found.

No sign of boy said to have floated off on balloon

Larimer County sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Messick said one of the boy's two older brothers saw 6-year-old Falcon Heene get into a box that was attached to the balloon with pegs. The box was not found when the balloon landed; video appeared to show something falling from the balloon at some point after it launched.

He has just been found alive in the garage attic of his parent's house, I guess he probably let go of the balloon's tethers and ran away to hide because he was scared of the consequences.

It wouldn't necessarily follow that the parents were in on the hoax.

Here's a scenario. Two boys playing with big balloon they know they shouldn't play with, accidentally set it free... panic, make up story, hide kid in attic, run in and tell daddy what happened...

Yes. I don't like misspelled words. It's my OCD. It's the same reason that I argue semantics so often, I don't like misapplied words either.

The kid is fine, he was in the attic in a box.

when i said it wasn't a hoax i was suggesting it wasn't a publicity stunt, which is the way I saw this thread going early.

LIke ib1, I too am disappointed this kid is not dead. I was hoping for an interesting news cycle when i got home :/

I can only laugh at your wish for the child to die.

you haven't been a kid for a long time damo. if you set a balloon free no kid is going to say his brother is dead and flew up into the sky in order to get in less trouble, they'll say they were no where near it and it flew away on its own
