Barack Hussein Himmler

In an interview with the leftist rag, The Atlantic on 11/16 your mocha savior odumbo uttered the following:

"The First Amendment doesn’t require private companies to provide a platform for any view that is out there.”

“If we do not have the capacity to distinguish what’s true from what’s false, then by definition the marketplace of ideas doesn’t work. And by definition our democracy doesn’t work. We are entering into an epistemological crisis.”

So cunts it seems like your little hitler here wants to decide for people what's true and what's false. He thinks democracy hangs in the balance if we don't start dictating to people what's true. You putrid goose-stepping pieces of shit.

I mean, you have to at least give Obama credit for being open about this. His statements reflect a mindset that is likely present among most politicians, particularly on the left.

Elites have always strived to control the masses through narratives, and social media is one of the most effective tools at it today. We're only a few steps away from 1984.

What he said, and he is correct by the way, has absolutely nothing at all to do with what you said he said, not even close

At its simplest levels he saying that when the truth doesn’t matter, knowing what is true or false is irrelevant, any exchange of ideas is impossible, and thereby democracy is challenged

Really not all that difficult

It is very much true, but that's the irony here. Social media has created a reality where what is false is considered true. The leftist bias in social media is precisely why the exchange of ideas is very limited now, and why democracy is a sad joke.

But part of the joke is that we don't actually live in a democracy.

What's the argument?
The First Amendment DOESN'T require private companies to provide a platform for any view that is out there.
The First Amendment lets you say almost any stupid shit that you want without going to prison.
That's what it does.
It doesn't entitle you access to any media that you don't own yourself.

This is also true, but what's happening right now is that only certain conversations are allowed to happen. Social media is now the gatekeeper of a large portion of the nation's dialogues.

People may decry the proliferation of fake news, but they miss the point. The more significant problem is that big tech censors its platforms with a political agenda in mind. The left is fine with this, because it typically matches their agenda.

So, "truth" becomes whatever big tech wants it to be.

There isn’t any, Soplipistic, anyone can make up their own truth, why did you think Trump lied so much, did you think such as saying his Inauguration crowd was the biggest in history even though all evidence showed it wasn’t even close was just a mistake on his part?

Trump’s lying was by design, part of his shtick, he made up his own truth, and what Obama is saying when such becomes acceptable, when Truth doesn’t matter, democracy suffers cause any exchange of ideas isn’t possible

As I said, not all that difficult, and by the way, as a tip, the personal insults are meaningless, on an anonymous vehicle it just makes the poster look small

Truth didn't matter to Obama. It really hasn't mattered in American politics ever.

The more you learn about the manipulations of media and the government, the more you realize how much we are lied to. Edward Snowden revealed quite a bit, for example.

Propaganda is not news

After fighting fascism and ending hitlers attempt to rule the world through lies

American hero’s came home from their victories and decided america should make laws to prevent some evil people from using propaganda again

They unitedly as a nation made laws to prevent it here

Laws like the fairness doctrine

Then years later republicans ended those laws so they could create a propaganda station so they could lie to the people

I'll give you one thing -- ending the Fairness Doctrine was a major mistake, for conservatives.

You can complain about Fox News all you want, but the level of deceit that social media engages in is far beyond that. If a similar doctrine was applied to social media, it would significantly change how dialogues work on various platforms.

But you can't deny he's a fascist prick can you concunt? Hes the one that can't shut his fucking pie hole and fade away to the shit pile of history to which he should relegated. He has to keep inserting himself and you leftist cum gobblers have to keep tickling his ball sack don't you?

How dumb are you? The supreme court ruled that free speech is not absolute. There are times and places it can be abridged. A guy running around a working place calling blacks "nigger or Jews Yids" would be fired and the courts would back it up.

The fairness doctrine was made law in 1949

It required coverage of all current issues and required attention to all sides of the issues

In the mid 80s the republicans in power killed it

Then fox emerged

Undeniable facts folks

I liked the fairness doctrine. It allowed not only the opposite big party, but small ones to have time. You could learn what they thought about and they had some good ideas. It did not hurt anyone. It educated them.

Oh no, not the “America isn’t a democracy” line again, semantically, the US is a democratic republic, now does that make you happy

Are big words too hard for you?

Not true, Obama never came close in eight years to the Olympian record setting rate for lying that Trump did in four years, no one did, and it was all by design, lying was is part of Trump’s schtick, to him actual facts or truth don’t matter, it is how you can frame the facts, truthfully or not, you didn’t really believe the BS regarding “alternative facts” did you

As Obama said, when the truth doesn’t matter, the discourse and exchange necessary to a functioning democracy is challenged
