They said the same thing about Clinton his first year.
True, it's really gonna rest on the economy. That's why I know he held much of the stimulus till this year.

Well if Reagan had been a great President that could have been his point....but let's try to stick with reality. Was the point of posting the article to show that Reagan had a lot of hype and then wasn't popular after his first year, similar to Obama, but then went on to become a great President just as Obama might?
Well he didn't really have much choice just because of how Federal budgeting system works.True, it's really gonna rest on the economy. That's why I know he held much of the stimulus till this year.

I don't see anybody saying Obama had a great year. It's still early, but it's laughable that Pelosi is claiming dems are similar to tea party folk. That's desparation not confidence.
VARGAS: Let's talk a bit about the coming elections in November. You had recently-- and the Tea Party movement, do you think it will be a force to be reckoned with? You had said last summer that it was a faux grassroots movement. You called it the Astroturf movement.
PELOSI: In some respects it is. Uh-huh.
VARGAS: Is the Tea Party movement a force?
PELOSI: No – No what I said at the time is, that they were -- the Republican Party directs a lot of what the Tea Party does, but not everybody in the Tea Party takes direction from the Republican Party. And so there was a lot of, shall we say, Astroturf, as opposed to grassroots.
But, you know, we share some of the views of the Tea Partiers in terms of the role of special interest in Washington, D.C., as -- it just has to stop. And that's why I've fought the special interest, whether it's on energy, whether it's on health insurance, whether it's on pharmaceuticals and the rest.
VARGAS: So, common ground with many people in the Tea Party movement.
PELOSI: Well, no, there are some. There are some because they, again, some of it is orchestrated from the Republican headquarters. Some of it is hijacking the good intentions of lots of people who share some of our concerns that we have about the role of special interests and many Tea Partiers, not that I speak for them, share the view, whether it's -- and Democrats, Republicans and Independents share the view that the recent Supreme Court decision, which greatly empowers the special interests, is something that they oppose.
I'm not claiming that Obama had a great year. I'm just saying that comparisons to previous presidents ("Barack Carter") are silliness.
And let's take a look at what Pelosi actually said instead of what oyurhink she said:
I don't really see Pelosi claiming that the Democrats and tea baggers "have a lot in common" as you claimed. Rather, presented with a question about the Tea Parties, instead of completely shit-bagging and trashing them Pelosi identified one interest she claims that the tea baggers and Democrats have in common. Basically, Pelosi didn't want to pick a fight when presented the opportunity. Whether her claim is true on the merits (not really) is another question.
What I claimed is that Chris Mathews said it, I'm not superfreak don't change my words. Like a lot of things people get taken out of context as it appears she did her. If you don't see her at least crawfishing a tiny bit, well do you?
Will the teaparty bring him down? Over the weekend Pelosi said democrats have a lot on common with the tea party!
And the reference is to Carter being a one termer. You don't think thiers at least a small chance he's a one termer?

Not as much as Obama, he gets that "thrill" up his leg when he speaks. My bad, I should have included Chris Mathews said. Mathew's loves Pelosi
