Well if you're in favor of getting us off of oil there's no conflict here.

Cap and trade is just one way to speed up the process. It raises the cost of business when you're using oil, so companies will naturally want to invest more in alternative energy. I would personally prefer carbon taxes (with a rule that all revenue from carbon taxes had to go directly into lowering the income tax next year), but cap and trade does basically the same thing except more complicated.

The problem is the method. I'm tired of being lied to constantly by the govt... thus the evilness.

Cap and trade is quite possibly one of the dumbest ideas out there. Especially if they go around giving away the credits.
 
Cap and scheme will die.
Getting of oil is a platitude, less than a pipe dream.
Even getting off foreign oil is barely doable.

That's a great point. But since Palin is Bush in heals whatever is done to her that can stop her is good for the country therefore justifiable. Desh and Boxer agree that their outrage over something like this is very 'situational'.

Did you ask a question or were you attempting to make some sort of nonsensical rhetorical point?

I'm sure you can figure out Desh's position on the hacking of Palin's email. As for Boxer, why would she opine one way or another on the matter? It's got zero to do with her.

Conversely, as chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, the issue of global warming and the controversy surrounding the hacking and leaking of these emails is well within the jurisdiction of her committee.

Is it appropriate to ask where Sarah Palin is condemning the hackers of these emails? No. It's stupid.
