We would have been there if not for the Great Recession. We meet with my finance guy Thursday for an update.

Now about your income and how you make it.....
 
Yep, that's it in black and white. But then I knew what I was getting in to before I jumped in all those years ago. I've enjoyed it a lot and it allows me to live comfortably here where there isn't anything in the way of industry. Sometimes I wonder though...

Plus I'll get to retire in 7 years at 50 and start another career. I may pursue a more monetary oriented field when the time comes.

LOL, I may do the opposite and start teaching/coaching at 50. My sis is a masters degree teacher. I had no idea it was that low, I thought surely it was 50% higher.
Teachers, police, and fireman are criminally underpaid all accross the country.

with the wife include I've never top 150 in income and maybe my best two years with capital gains would have been just over 200.
 
My best year was when I built a second home, effectively deferring that gain until I sell it. It was appraised for 170 more than I put into it.
