The BBC has spent thousands of pounds of licence payers' money trying to block the release of a report which is believed to be highly critical of its Middle East coverage.

The corporation is mounting a landmark High Court action to prevent the release of The Balen Report under the Freedom of Information Act, despite the fact that BBC reporters often use the Act to pursue their journalism.

The action will increase suspicions that the report, which is believed to run to 20,000 words, includes evidence of anti-Israeli bias in news programming.

The court case will have far reaching implications for the future working of the Act and the BBC. If the corporation loses, it will have to release thousands of pages of other documents that have been held back.

Toby!!! Shame on you. You know that the BBC can't be biased. They are so much better than the corporate owned "conservative" ;) news groups over here. After all, they give the news with an accent. Anyone who doesn't give the news with an accent can't possibly be trusted by the extreme left.

If the Israelis weren't embarrassed by the cold-blooded murder of the Jewish-American anti-war activist, Rachel Corrie, who they ran down with a bulldozer in Gaza for the simple act of standing up to protect the home of an innocent family, what could embarrass them?
 
Oh perhaps facts that they have all kinds of weapons of mass destruction , despite their lies that they do not.

Not hardly US. You are linked to daily Kos I guess. not one connection to reality. If the BBC has nothing to hide then let this report come out and refute any false claims. What do they have to hide? Why do you want to hide the facts? Only because they prove you wrong again and again.
 
Read the orginal post again. There was a report by the goverment of the UK on the BBC objectivity. The BBC wants to limit its publication. Who is hiding what?

What fake news, what fake claims? Disproved by Whom? Post at least one link to Rachel Corrie's fake claims and one link to the refutation of those fake claims.

What are you trying to hide?

Which aspect of the government came up with this ? What if the demoncrats get control and do the same thing to Fox .......
 
Not exactly the same US, but if Fox was investigated they would come out fine. Fair and balanced. Can't say the same for most of the MSM.
 
The govt does not pay for the BBC either, It is paid for with a telly tax on the viewers. NPR only gets some of its money from the govt. The rebulikens have been very successful in diminishing it's funding over the last 20 yrs or so.
