because no one else has..........lib'ruls like to talk about the popular vote....

Here’s something more telling. In the last several midterm elections, the opposition party were all positive percentages in double digits for independent votes. I don’t have the exact numbers, but they were +12% to +15% or so. This election it was +2% for the party in power.

Despite the economy, immigration, etc., the extremism of the Republican Party and their fruitcake nominees turned the independents away.

I think I get your point but I'm confused about your rationale

He's trying to ridicule the Saint Hillary fans who bring up her "3 million" more votes in 2016.

Besides the obvious that Presidents aren't determined by popular vote, another thing he doesn't understand is the difference between a national election and a midterm where all elections are local.

Seriously please stop. I don't think you are dumb, just a hateful troll. So stop it, please.

Who? Pmp? He's not dumb although his cognitive abilities do seem to be slipping. He appears to have an education but is so wrapped up in his own stink that it is rarely on display.

Yak? He seems average, but like most Trumpers both poorly educated and too lazy to learn in his middle age years.

The point is if the majority number of votes matter it's only if we are all voting about the same thing. That's the not case with midterms. But there is

Agreed about "voting about the same thing".

What do you make of your own link? All that proves to me is what many on JPP have been talking about for months: Americans tend to vote against the incumbent party. Ergo, they voted Democrat in 2018 and they voted Republican in 2022. Want to guess where they'll vote in 2026? LOL

From the link: "US voters did not deliver the red wave some Republicans had predicted and which Democrats had feared."

Yeah that's why I said I didn't understand the rationale of the argument.

I do think that by itself voting against the incumbent completely explains the shift. Those groups are historically Republican. The most surprising to me was the young voters.

its not obvious to all the JPP lib'ruls who keep telling us that Trump didn't win the popular vote.....

The question is should the EC be eliminated? The popular vote seems fairer. If you vote for anything else, the most votes win

Moot point since you'll never get 3/4s of the States to ratify an Amendment.

My recommendation is to fight the battles you can win. Ranked voting works.
