Beef and coffee prices surging

MAGA morons did not allow Biden to lean on the excuse that there was a chicken flu outbreak causing an egg shortage, so surging coffee and beef prices are entirely Trump's fault. Excuses and rationalizations won't cut it.
All MAGAts are liars as JPP proves daily.

Sane, intelligent and educated people know there's a lot of reasons for the rising costs since the Great Recession under GW and the COVID pandemic under Trump. The fact MAGAts deny knowledge of these factors goes to prove they are stupid and/or liars.

The current rise in coffee and beef prices is directly related to what the WSJ labeled "the dumbest trade war in history".

WSJ rebukes Trump’s tariff actions, ‘the dumbest war in history’

President Trump is set to launch his first major tariff strike on Saturday, targeting two of America’s closest neighbors—Mexico and Canada. Both will face a 25% border tax, while China, described as a genuine adversary, will endure a lesser 10% tariff. According to an article in The Wall Street Journal, this brings to mind Bernard Lewis’ famous observation that while it’s risky to be America’s enemy, it’s often fatal to be its friend.

Leaving aside China for a moment, Trump’s justification for the tariffs on his immediate neighbors makes little sense. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claims the countries have “enabled illegal drugs to pour into America.” However, drugs have been entering the US for decades, and as long as there’s demand, this will continue. Neither Mexico nor Canada can stop this flow entirely.

The WSJ article also states that it seems drugs may be a convenient excuse, as Trump has expressed a deep preference for tariffs simply for the sake of imposing them. As he said Thursday, “We don’t need the products that they have. We have all the oil you need. We have all the trees you need,” referring to natural resources like oil and timber....

...This tariff war is especially problematic because it contradicts the very trade agreement that Trump negotiated and signed during his first term—the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Ignoring treaty obligations with close allies undermines the US’s credibility as a negotiating partner. If Trump seeks concessions and pulls back, it could still be framed as a win, but if the trade war continues, it will likely go down as one of the most misguided and avoidable conflicts in economic history.

Beef and coffee prices surge, grocery costs to spike

Grocery prices in the United States have surged, marking the largest one-month gain in three years, with beef and coffee prices hitting record highs.

According to the Consumer Price Index, grocery prices rose by 0.6% from July to August and are nearly 30% higher than before the pandemic. The increase is attributed to factors such as tariffs and supply shortages.

My coffee, which I always bought, was $16.99. Now it's $19.99. It was pricey, to begin with.

You don't have the truth. You have something you read on a biased right-wing website.

You didn't allow the bird flu pandemic to shoulder any of the blame for egg shortages. Not a bit.

You can't use any excuses for Trump. Trump is 100 percent to blame for surging coffee and beef prices.
Yes bird flu is some to blame but so is the moronic way it was managed which contributed to the high cost of eggs. The laying hen flock was drastically reduced during the Biden administration. The cattle herd was also drastically reduced during the Biden administration. BOTH thing happened during Biden's administration. Laying hens take about 22 weeks to start laying. Cattle herd taking about 2-3 years to reproduce. The the herd size still has not recovered while the flock size has recovered.

Climate is not a pattern.

El Nino is not a warming of the ocean. It is a variation in the equatorial counter current.
You cannot warm the Earth. You cannot create energy out of nothing.
It is a weather pattern brought on by the equatorial counter current. The Earth is warmed by the sun so energy is not being created by nothing.

a fire destroying the Monon Meat Packing and Catering in Indiana in July 2025, and another fire destroying the Hall Name Packing Company in Chickasaw, Alabama, in September 2025. These incidents highlight a pattern of such disasters, with various other meat packing and food processing plants suffering fires or other major damage in recent years, including facilities in Wisconsin, New York, and Idaho.
Both of those were small, local meat packers. Neither one was a terrorist attack. And neither had ANY affect on meat prices.
