An algorithm isn't an invention.

There is no such thing as a marketing invention. That's retarded. No intellectual property law allows you to patent a marketing scheme.

Windows is not an invention. Again, utterly retarded. You clearly don't even understand what the word means.

Wrong on all counts. And there's no need to patent a marketing technique, seeing as how the opposition will have to unload a lot of money just to convert over to your way, which doesn't even include actually catching up (and thus far, no one has caught up to Google, Starbucks, or Yahoo!).

An algorithm and an operating system are both inventions. Stop trolling. We have simply moved past the incandesant lightbulb and the Model-T.

If you thought the 60s was about fuck they nieghbor you really have no idea what the 60s were about then.

Really? We are more "walled off" as Frost would say, than we were before the 60's. Besides, if you were there you don't remember them anyway...

A person really did need to experience a little of the 50s wierd stiff put everyone in a box and pretend EVERYTHING is just fine life plan to understand we are NOT more walled off after the 60s. The post WWII era was a weird "what do we do now" kinda life. People thought they were obligated to create a nationwide "camelot" of perfect little families all acting as predicted. The war aftermath was a running on auto pilot of the lives of millions. The 60s reaction by the youth was inevitable because inside those homes of puppets the people were in reality miserable. The kids wanted to live a meaningful life and not just be what EVERYONE expected of them. It saved this country.

The transistor was an invention.

An operating system is mostly a creative work. Is a painting an invention?

And try patenting E=MC^2.

An OS is most certainly an invention. And artwork gets copyrighted, so yeah, its an invention.

As for Einstein, according to Family Guy, he stole the theory of relativity from someone else anyway... :)
