I want to get this in before all the results are in so I dont get accused of even more partisanship.

This American election has, in my opinion, brought several things into sharp focus. These are things for all modern nations to heed.

1. Democracy is something that is almost impossible to define so that everyone agrees.
2. National curricula should include an objective political content.
3. National curricula should have very tightly controlled religious content.
4. Politically polarised nations are not governable.
5. Funds for political campaigns should be capped.
6. Air time for political campaigns should be subject to laws the same as product advertising laws.
7. Advertising should be controlled so that all contenders are given the same air time. (Within certain guidelines.)
8. Religion (all religion) should be banned from any national government and should be disallowed in any commercial promotion. (see 6)

Things for America to heed:

1. Your form of democracy is not suitable, nor is it desired, by many modern, civilised nations.
2. Your function in the world is to be a worker for peace and prosperity.
3. Your education system must start to change the attitudes of young Americans toward violence and particularly gun ownership.
4. Your country is so polarised that, should education not bring the people together, you must separate and become two separate nations. This would probably mean war, but so be it.
5. Your concept of freedom is not a concept that is acceptable to most other nations.
6. You must learn to read and understand sentences of more than ten words and articles of more than five hundred. Sound bites can never give you enough information to make a decision.

I have not written this as a liberal, a democrat, a conservative or anything. I have written it as a human being. And despite the fact that there are several here who will squeal that 'we dont give a f*** what you think', I do care what you think. I do care what Brits, French, Germans, indians, Chinese, Japanese think because what others think affects my world and the billions yet to be born.
