Are Republicans going to end America's freedoms and destroy the Republic?
A: Yes.
You got it backwards again. That's what the left is doing to us.

Lemme get this straight. The Republicons want the cheap labor but bitch about the Mexican that comes with it. So they pass laws that harass the cheap labor after they've picked the oranges.
Wouldn't it make more sense to go after the 2000 companies who hire illegals instead of going after 10,000,000 individual illegals? If illegals can't find work they will go home. Make the penalties harsh if a co. is caught with illegal workers. Any thing else is just bullshit. This is about the cons losing AZ and more power to Sheriff Joe.
it's such a horrible thing.....make sure the people who are here are here legally.....make sure the people who vote have the right to vote......Republicans are bastards to think things like that are important, eh?......
:tantrum: ...THEM MEAN RACIST 'CONS ARE TRYING TO STEAL THE ELECTION BY NOT ALLOWING THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO VOTE!!!! WAHHHHHHHH!!
Someone needs to get Desh on this right away!!
Ah, yes. I was fooled by the line of succession. She was appointed governor of Arizona due to Napolitano's resignation to become Secretary of Homeland Security... In CO it would have been the LT. Gov, which is elected on the same ticket as the Governor.
One simple law, within the states' purview and without "race" involved, would be to simply require every employer to check employees using the E-Verify system and to actually enforce it with fines.
It's way better than the I-9 forms we used. I can see why people wouldn't want to trust it though. We need to create something like it that is better and use it.E-Verify correctly identifies legal workers only 93% of the time and illegal workers about 54% of the time. No thanks.

It would be better for all of us if we allowed more legal entry and knew who was here. And if you don't think the IRS already has such a database I think you are laughably naive. Pretending that the government doesn't have the information about us in a database is a bit ridiculous. With all the tools at our disposal today it shouldn't be that difficult to come up with a logical law that would do us all some good. Let in the people who want a better life for themselves and are willing to work for it, leave out the people who are coming here to escape justice.Again, no thanks to a national identity database. Let's imagine what happens if you piss off somebody with access or who has the wherewithal to gain access and how difficult it might be to correct the problem. And for what, so we can stop people from trying to make a better life for themselves?

Works for me. I've consistently said we need to open up legal immigration. This is a humanity issue, we create a need and a market for human flesh. They are transported like items and treated much like it too. What database does the IRS have that might stop one from getting a job? Is it open for public access?
I think the bulk of the problem goes away if we just make it easier to immigrate legally. Maybe if they wrapped it in with serious reforms making it easier to immigrate legally. Even then though, it should be an after hire procedure that could be appealed within a reasonable time frame, with some sort of compensation to those falsely identified as illegal for the hassle it would cause them.

BS, the "collateral damage" is the actual target. The problem of non-citizens voting is very small. The bigger problem for Republicans is the voting of the citizens caught up in these overly broad purges.
New Arizona immigration law = worst fucking idea ever
It isn't even like having vehicle registration. If you don't have your papers on you at all times, you get arrested and put in jail immediately. If you don't have your registration, they set a court date and you can prove it later. It's not like it'd be OK for hispanics to constantly have to prove their citizenship every three or so months in court anyway, but allowing them to be constantly arrested for not wearing their Jewish star is obviously so much worse.
