The Communist Chinese are to blame for this Wuhan coronavirus pandemic.

Their containment methods were laughable, their officials refused to inform the public, and people died.

They allowed Wuhan to celebrate Chinese New Year, exposing potentially tens of thousands to the disease.

Some five million flowed out of the city before the Communists enacted a quarantine.

Now we know that they knew about human transmission a long time before they admitted it.

  • It was on Dec. 10 that Wei Guixian, a seafood merchant in this city’s Hua’nan market, first started to feel sick. Thinking she was getting a cold, she walked to a small local clinic to get some treatment and then went back to work.
  • Eight days later, the 57-year-old was barely conscious in a hospital bed, one of the first suspected cases in a coronavirus epidemic that has paralyzed China and gripped the global economy. The virus has spread around the world and sickened more than 100,000.
For almost three weeks, doctors struggled to connect the dots between Ms. Wei and other early cases, many of them Hua’nan vendors.

Patient after patient reported similar symptoms, but many, like her, visited small, poorly resourced clinics and instead of "free" hospitals where universal health care was available.

Some patients balked at paying for chest scans; others, including Ms. Wei, refused to be transferred to Communist-run hospitals.

When doctors did finally establish the Hua’nan link in late December, they quarantined locked up Ms. Wei and others like her and raised the alarm to their superiors.

But they were prevented by Chinese Communist authorities from alerting their own peers in the medical community, let alone the public.

One of the first doctors to alert Chinese authorities was criticized by the Party bosses for “spreading rumors” after sharing a test result with a former medical-school classmate that showed a patient had a coronavirus.

Another doctor was forced to write a "self-criticism letter" saying his warnings “had a negative impact.”

Because they would otherwise have to admit that in the U.S, it's clearly the trump virus. He hid it. He gave it time to take hold, and then he did absolutely nothing but assure it would spread even further.

We can hold their government accountable, and also not create a hostile environment for people in this country who happen to have ancestry from that country (or, as is typical with Americans, ANY Asian heritage at all).

It's like chewing gum & walking. I don't see how calling it something like the "Kung Flu" holds the Chinese gov't accountable. But I can easily see how it creates a hostile environment and reaction against Asian Americans.
 
Biden is getting a system in place for vaccines to slash the Trump virus. It takes some time, but he has the system moving toward it. he can bring relief as far as he can get vaccines.

Do people here REALLY think that calling it something like that "holds China accountable?" That would be truly sad if that was really the case. China does not feel held accountable by what we choose to call the virus, and it has no practical ramifications.

Which just leaves the idea that it creates discrimination - which is undeniable.

But as it is with wearing masks, many Americans can't be bothered to do nuthin' for nobody. We'll call it whatever we want to call it, just because it feels good.

yeah, even as late as March 9th, a competent president could have isolated the 647 known infected people, quarantine close contacts, and limit the infection of this virus to where it would not destroy our economy and kill over 400,000. but he was still lying about it, calling it a democratic hoax.
