Best place in the world to live?

Evidence that he has never been here. And BTW the cussing doesn't make your post any more realistic.

I used to live in Denver, and my sister still lives in Castle Rock--- I have certainly been there.

Too flat, too ugly. Sorry to disappoint you.

EDIT: That is, flat compared to other places I have lived...obviously there are the Rocky Mountains and hills, etc.

LOL. Even more evidence. It's like somebody desperately trying to prove they've seen the ocean. Especially if Castle Rock is "too flat"... Shoot. I almost moved to Larkspur up on the mountain...

But flat? There are more 14K+ mountains in Colorado than in any other state. Flat? Seriously. That is just sad.

Now flat, that would be Nebraska. And you are right, it sucked.

So where exactly have you lived? The slopes of Everest? K2?

Yeah, I got a chuckle out of that as well. Especially after riding the Elephant Rock century this year.

Kind of like someone saying the ocean is just too still.

Well, anyway, for an American who's never stepped foot out of America to say that America is the best place in the world to live is ludicrous. We aren't even the richest country anymore.

again limosine liberal wannabee's are usually the only one who list financial opportunity so low. The rest of the world is way to poor to worry about the long list of false outrages you guys have above that.
I will say that personal freedoms have certainly taken a hit this decade and prob have a lot to do with the fall to 12th.

LOL "The rest of the world"? Like the countries that have higher per capita and much higher median income?

Whether you believe I lived in Colorado or not, the fact remains that I did and found it to be an ugly state. Live with it.

:D

Yeah, I swear I saw the ocean once, and it was all still and boring! ;)

I don't care if you think Colorado is all flat and ugly. I hope you convince all your friends, relatives, and everybody reading here today... It will keep Colorado a great place to live if we can just keep the population down.

Iceland.

US slips down the list.

"Iceland has overtaken Norway as the world's most desirable country to live in, according to an annual U.N. table published on Tuesday that again puts AIDS-afflicted sub-Saharan African states at the bottom.

Rich free-market countries dominate the top places, with Iceland, Norway, Australia, Canada and Ireland the first five but the United States slipping to 12th place from eighth last year in the U.N. Human Development Index.

But the index, blending 2005 figures for life expectancy, educational levels and real per capita income, finds that all 22 countries falling into its "low human development" category are in sub-Saharan Africa, with Sierra Leone last.

In 10 of these countries, two children in five will not reach the age of 40, said the compilers at the U.N. Development Program. Last year's report said HIV/AIDS had had a "catastrophic effect" on life expectancy in the region."

This study is always false, the most "desirable" place to live in is the country in which the most amount of immigrants desire to move to. NOT the country which some organization deems best because of some "human development index".

As such the US is on top by a lot, people from around the world try and move here because it presents the best oppurtunity at the best lifestyle:

"The United States scores high on real per capita GDP, which at $41,890"

Well you could always turn the whole state into one giant inner city with high taxes, high regulation and high crime, by electing Liberal Democrats. That seemed to keep the population nice and low for inner city Detroit, Chicago, etc...

Never tell someone y9u live in the "best" place. They might move there and spoil it.

I live in the worst place on earth ;)
