Best Seller by Michelle Obama

"Michelle Obama's memoir "Becoming" could become the biggest-selling autobiography ever, its German publisher said, expressing optimism that husband Barack's forthcoming account of his two terms as president will also be a hit.

"The former first lady's recollections, for which she received a reported advance of more than $60 million from Bertelsmann's Penguin Random House division, has sold 10 million copies since it came out in November."

Another celebrity with a book promoting herself and earning millions. I don’t buy those type of books. I’m not that shallow that I need to follow the life of some celebrity who thinks their shit don’t stink.

Aren't you special? It is a huge bestseller.

My first reaction is that it's a 'Woman's Book'.
My second reaction would be that it's a 'Coffee Table' book.

In the back of my mind, I wonder if everyone who bought the book, will actually read the book?
In fact ... this is a book that Christie would buy.
I guess we can wait on the highlights of the book from Christie. (if she actually reads it, rather than just setting it on her Coffee Table)

With that title it sounds like a self help book.
For a best seller of all time I surprised I haven't heard anything about it.

So what. If you want to support a millionaire, knock yourself out.
I have no interest in her life.

Why don’t you start living your own life, instead of someone else.
Maybe you can write your own book.

Michelle’s interesting because why? If she wasn’t married to the president would you buy her book.

Hmm. Typical presentation. Boring choice of wording. Fair dismount. I give this attempt at virtue signalling a 5. Judges?

Wow that applies perfectly to trump and his eleven shallow boasting books!

:rofl2: If she wasn't married to the president she wouldn't have written this book.

I would not buy it . But it is a best seller without me. I read Grant's autobiography and it was very good. Grants was a best seller because he was a president and a general.

You are correct. I didn’t buy any of his books either.
I hate these asshole politicians that profit from their office with multimillion book deals and speaking tours.

Trump did not even write his books. He just put his name on them. Listen to Trump talk if you wonder about that. Can you picture that verbal bumblefuck sitting down and writing a book? He lacks the discipline, the vocabulary and the ability to think logically.

That is debatable. There is some stiff competition for the title. But you are welcome to your opinion.

We've been blessed with a lot of wonderful first ladies, many of whom had thoughtful and well-promoted projects. Beautifying America (Mrs. Johnson). Mental health (Mrs. Carter). Health insurance (Mrs. Clinton). Literacy/reading (Mrs. Bush I). Education (Mrs. Bush II). Childhood health and obesity issues (Mrs. Obama).

I have always admired Jimmy Carter, who used his fame as former POTUS to make the world a better place. What say you?
