I don't think ignorance of the Fed, or monetary policy, is a recent phenomenon or a partisan thing. Not to throw her under the bus but my wife has a Master's degree, didn't vote for Trump and couldn't tell you the first thing about the Fed or what it does. And I think there are a lot of others like her.
