:dunno: we'll see what plays out. Are you happy he isn't planning to change any of the trade policies, including tariffs, @ least for now.

Trump stopped Huawei and ZTE in its tracks which is great. BoJo is ensuring that their equipment is being removed from 5G networks as well. If Biden reverses that then you'll know what way the wind is blowing.

This is supposition. It's in the same category as "social security will go broke by (insert year)" "Amazon will take over NYC" "space tourism will begin" "oil will run out by 2020" "trump will win the election in a landslide" etc. The internet is teeming with failed predictions that go back decades, even centuries. You don't like Biden so you're jumping on that bandwagon; also, since when is it the US's sole responsibility to keep China in check? What's the UK doing about China?

You think trump is tough on China yet he sold out the US's soybean farmers as his show of strength. He doesn't really give a rat's ass about farmers, just about maintaining his self-proclaimed image as a great dealmaker.

Biden wants to appoint Katherine Tai as the US's top trade rep and she's a long-time critic of China. Read this article: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/10/biden-to-name-katherine-tai-us-trade-representative.html

I think you're jumping the gun about Biden and China. In the past he carried out Obama's policies but now he's in charge and can run his own agenda.

What is the UK doing about China, you ask? It is removing ZTE and Huawei 5G infrastructure from UK mobile networks. It has albeit belatedly, woken up to the danger from spies in British universities like Oxford and their ground breaking research on quantum computers, can you say qubits? They have offered UK citizenship to Hong Kong citizens and will get MI6 to vet all science research by Chinese students at UK universities. Why does the Left fixate on soy beans anyway, it's small beer compared to the huge intellectual property theft by the Chinese, you must know that surely? I doubt that the Chinese care much about Critical Race Theory and Fourth Wave Feminism.

What about the rest of the world??

Winning the battle here is easy, selling it to the rest of the world not so much.......

How much of that has trump done? He's even tried to curb legal immigration by making the citizenship test a lot more difficult (which I think is hilarious because I doubt that trump could pass the easier test unless he wrote the answers on his palm.)

There's no "fixation" on soybeans, it's concern for the farmers that trump screwed over while pretending he's all about the American people. Surely you must know that every decision he makes is predicated on how it will affect him personally. This is not just my opinion; everybody who's ever worked for him or dealt with him admits it.

Disassociating the West from China will be a long and painful process which many will not have the will or staying power to carry through.

Let explain something to you regarding soybeans, which you probably don't know. China has a huge problem with agriculture, they now import around 60% of the world's soybeans approx. 2.7 billion bushels per year. Virtually all comes from Brazil, Argentina and the US. They have no choice but to import so much and may well find demand outstripping supply.

The Chinese are so desperate to import more that they are willing to build a 3000 mile railway from the west coast of Peru to the east coast of Brazil. They are doing that because they need every soy bean they can lay their hands on, from anywhere it will grow in South America, like Peru and Uruguay.

They have laid waste to the north where they used to grow soya, resulting in desertification, due to the lack of water. It takes something like 1500 tonnes of water to grow a tonne of soya beans so you can see the scale of the problem. China is desperate for US beans which Trump knew very well but not many on the Left sadly.

Latest victim, Bill Barr.

You asked what the UK has done and I told you, we have also changed citizenship requirements, to ensure that new citizens can speak English. Many countries already require that including Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Denmark also requires that immigrant children receive 25 hours of Danish language, history and civics lessons per week, are they Trumpian fascists?

IMHO you are greatly exaggerating the need for those beans in China~& trump genius about it.....

Is that rail line back on again this week??

The line won't just carry beans by a long shot & one of the main objectives is to avoid the Panama Canal.........

The costs may break Peru.......

CONtrary to what trump wanted the trade balance has not improved & it never will if we are selling only raw commodities to them & they are selling us highly processed goods...............

There is nothing the ccp would want more than for the USA to be just another source of raw commodities & totally dependent on Chinese manufactured goods for all levels of consumption in the USA..
