Has anyone else noticed the efforts by many on the left, whether indivuduals, political pundits, or even left-wing "news" show hosts to paint the Republican party as the "Trump party?" I think they've figured out that if almost anyone besides Donald Trump, who had been castigated for four years on every cable news channel, had to deal with an incredibly deadly pandemic and effectively shut the country down, (this besides the fact that he's an idiot and could keep from Tweeting stupid stuff...some of it true, but stupid for a politician to Tweet out) had run against Biden in the last election, Biden would have lost. So I believe they have decided that connecting conservative republicans to Trump is a winning way for them. Just an observation from the title of the thread.

I don't know about others but I call it the Trump Party because Trump controls the party.

I know that many Republicans would rather not have to support him; but to defy Trump is pretty much asking to be shown the exit door out of the Republican party. Trump has taken over the party because Trump controls the voters. The Republican party can't win without Trump.

This places moral conservatives in a serious bind. They either have to acquiesce and pretend to support him (which must be very tiresome and go against their morals,) or become an outlier in the party.

In the Republican party, the majority must support Trump whether they like it or not. Anyone who opposes Trump is the minority.

The majority of Republican voters support Trump, so that's where the votes are.

Like it or not, the party has been taken over by Trump, so it is now the Trump Party.

Republicans could gain a lot more respect if they would reject Trump wholly.

The Trump Party appeals to deplorable voters, and the rest of the Republicans have to play along or they become powerless and face being primaried. One by one, old school Republicans have been pushed out of power and replaced with Trump loyalists.

That is why it is the Trump Party.

We reached a peak at the beginning of October of 9.6 Million cases, and have been struggling to get that number below 9 Million ever since. We are still not there, but we are slowly approaching it. Others have to be nudged, shamed, coerced, convinced, pushed, pressured, until finally they give in and get with the program.

If enough people wanted to do the right things on their own to end the pandemic they should have done what was directed by the CDC and Dr Fauci.
