Whether on the right or left, it just seems so many people act like the President is a dictator who has total control over everything that happens in the country as if there is no state or local government who make any decisions. If you live in the poor part of a big urban area it's often par for the course that kids pass street entrepreneurs (prostitutes, drug dealers etc.) while walking down their streets.

It's extremely sad this is the case but we're also never going to have a world where there aren't poor people, people down on their luck, the world's oldest profession and so forth. There is a lot to blame Biden (and Democrats) for, but the idea that poverty and prostitution in big cities will no longer exist if we vote for Republicans is quite frankly just dumb.

I'll speak for my experience in San Francisco. When Trump was President it's not like prostitution was just eliminated. It doesn't work that way. The world's oldest profession isn't leaving because a Republican becomes President. (and let's be honest we're all human, you think Republicans don't visit prostitutes? There the world's oldest profession for a reason and that transcends any and all political beliefs)

My young daughter has walked past prostitutes (and drug dealers, drug users, mentally ill and others who have just screamed at her) so I'm well aware of this (unfortunately). Certain things come with living in urban areas and having money doesn't make you immune to them. Yes, progressive policies most certainly contribute to this. But simply electing Republicans isn't making this go away. They would likely do a much better job addressing it but it's a facile answer to claim this wouldn't exist with Republicans in charge. That's just not reality.

It is laughable. On my street, for example, we have a couple of Asian massage parlors. They've even had national exposes on these parlors, which are purely prostitution houses and the women who work there are trafficked. Yet the City still can't shut them down (or maybe it's a matter of not wanting too?). It's sad (for these women who are trafficked) but its fascinating as well when wondering how these businesses do it.
