Big fat insult to veteran SEAL

Gov. Chris Christie argued with a former Navy SEAL Thursday over the state's plans to reconfigure public universities in New Jersey -- resulting in Christie calling the man an idiot.


William Brown -- a Rutgers-Camden law student, opposes the governor's plan to merge his school with Rowan University. Brown asked the governor during a town hall meeting in Burlington County to consider how the merger would affect students, and veteran students in particular, before going ahead with his plan.

Christie ordered police to eject Brown, and said, "Your rear end’s gonna get thrown in jail, idiot. Damn, man, I’m governor, could you just shut up for a second?"

Brown called the response by Christie and the police "inappropriate."

Brown told the Philadelphia Inquirer after the encounter that he worried that the merger would hamper educational opportunities that now exist for veterans.

"I think he's a bully sometimes," Brown said. "I was disappointed the governor couldn't have a debate."

What? The guy was a jerk. Does his past military service give him carte blanche to act like an asshat all his life?

And they truncated what the governor said, took it out of context, IMO, deliberately. He said, "After you graduate and you conduct yourself this way in a court room, your rear end’s gonna get thrown in jail, idiot."

If you actually read the interaction itself rather than the smear campaign you'd know that the guy got his question answered and then wouldn't shut up. It's pretty simple, stop talking, I don't care if was a seal, a green beret or an airborne ranger, shut up when somebody else is talking.

And I don't even like most republicans.

I believe the things my husband was exposed to in 'Nam gives him the right to be an asshole, even though he is not, but I could understand why he would be an asshole if he wanted to be an asshole, especially to an public servant.

From a coward and bigot that didn't serve a fuckin' second in the Armed Forces?....wouldn't you know it. Right and wrong all in the space of a few words.....

One of the creeps that spit on the last group of veterans returning from war, as they worshiped Hanoi Jane, they now think a veteran can do no wrong......probably embracing that insane ass that went out and killed Afghan women and children in their homes as a hero......

What would you expect from asswipes that have no moral compass of their own and only do what the DNC or Bill Maher tells them.......

There are quite literally thousands of people who could use that as an excuse. Your husband doesn't because he's got class.

The Governor was right, if he acts that way in a court room he will end up in jail.
