Big Pharma abuse...

Republi'cans' working to block any Insurance reform and to maximize their profits at citizen expense is the problem.

The only "Insurance reform" that would fix the system is getting rid of insurance to pay for most healthcare.

Why do Republi'cans' fight to preserve this big Pharma Oligopoly and Corporatocracy abuse, ...

Cliffs :

- video explains how pharmacist can sell certain medications to person at $X price but how, as soon as they mention they have Insurance, he is required to both swipe the card, and NOT tell the person they would actually pay less out of pocket, if they did not use their Insurance.

- His Cost : $2
- He would sell for $4
- she says she has Insurance. His gag clause kicks in.
- Swipes card and Insurance 'co pay' says the price is $10
- she now pays $10
- $7 goes to Big Pharma
- he makes $3

He could lose his pharma license if he told her his cash pay price which would save her money.

Any reform of this system is instantly blocked by Republi'cans'.
I'm not on any medications, but on the rare occasion that I'm at a pharmacy I've seen the pharmacist tell a customer that it would be cheaper to just pay out of pocket.

I'm sure there are some ethical people out there.

Well...there's plenty of blame to go around. Sinema is just as bad as any Republican. Big Pharma owns quite a few politicians and judges. It only takes a few in this close Congress.

As he is required to by the various REMAINING gag orders that still exist.

But this thread is NOT about just gag orders that prevent that type of disclosure that would save individuals money, while they pad the profits of big pharma.

This thread IS ABOUT all the various ways Republi'cans' fight to be the voice of Big Pharma and maximizing their profits at the expense of citizens,, such as fighting any attempt to lower costs via allowing bulk purchasing.

each and every time the republi'cans' are given a chance to help citizens get out from under this predatory Oligopoly, they vote to defend it, while screwing the citizens. Why?
Which is why nobody in Washington should be able to have investments in the market.

you fuckwits did everything and anything you wanted to insurance back in the Obama administration.......don't try to blame your fuckups on us now.......

There are. I had cataract surgery last year. You have to take an onerous regime of eye drops for weeks ahead of time. Two were cheap; one was $70 for one tiny bottle! The clerk heard my disgust, got out her phone, found her Meijer app, used the new prescription pharmacy coupon she found, and applied it to my bill. The $70 turned into $30. She's my hero.

They're all corrupt.

Trump says it wasn’t ‘appropriate’ for him to keep owning stocks

President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday cast his decision to sell off his stock portfolio in June as a major move to minimize his vast conflicts of interest and claimed it was widely known, despite the fact that it was just revealed on Tuesday.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to be owning stocks when I’m making deals for this country that maybe will affect one company positively and one company negatively. So, I just felt it was a conflict,” Trump said in an interview with Matt Lauer on “Today” as he promoted being named as Time’s Person of the Year.

Democrats opposed to drug price reform are among those who received the most in donations from the pharma industry: report

Democrats accounted for roughly 60% of the $177 million in industry lobbying and campaign donations. And the contributions appear to be working, as those in the party who are most opposed to reducing drug prices are among the ones who benefited most from the influence-peddling, shows Reuters in an analysis of public data.

Pharmaceutical industry donating more to Democrats than Republicans in the lead up to 2020 election

Guess who the pharma industry is supporting for president

Big Pharma Backs Joe Biden

The pharmaceuticals and health products industry has donated more than $5.9 million to Biden's presidential campaign, according to OpenSecrets.org, a site run by the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks political donations.

President Donald Trump has garnered less than $1.5 million in donations from the industry, based upon FEC figures up to September 21. This stark contrast may be explained by the widespread criticism of Trump's approach to drug pricing.

of course they are TARGETTING Dem's as the Republi'cans' are already bought and doing their job in killing legislation when they have the numbers.

Big Pharma needs more Manchin and Sinema's on the Dem side, as safety back ups and they will always find some corporate Dems to take the money.

But that does not change the FACT that only Dem's push legislation to try and fix some of these issues, and Republi'cans' always oppose it.

So 'no money... no healthcare'?

Or are you calling for a much bigger welfare State to pick up what Insurance covers for the working poor and below, who simply have no disposable income for their own care?

haha you are the biggest sucker ever for all Trump's BS.

A big real estate developer leveraged to the ears as Trump is, is not going to own much stock, if any at all. They invest any free cash they have in themselves and their business so they can borrow multiples more on top of it. they can get 200-500% or more time the leverage on a dollar they put in their own real estate as opposed to buying a dollar of any stock, they do not control.

What was NOT appropriate for Trump, was not putting all his real estate assets and other businesses in a blind trust, when he became POTUS. Not only was the Trust, no blind, his idiot sons admitting this past week in Court with Lettisha James, they really ran nothing and Trump admitted he still really ran it. his sons had no clue what they were actually signing or what it meant. They were simply strawman signatures for daddy.

but yes, Pelosi and all the other politicians getting rich off insider trading is shameful.

Pharma and insurance of all kinds should both be nationalized
and codified out of the private sector permanently.

The private sector is for restaurants and couture and automobiles and entertainment.

It's not for any part of the health care industry,
insurance,
public transportation,
or public utilities.

The pachys will call me a Communist,

but even though I'm a registered Democrat, not a Communist,

and have never ever belonged to the Communist Party,

how can being a Communist be nearly as bad as being a Republican?

To be called one of those would be a real insult.

In what way have Communists fucked up America
anywhere near to the extent that Republicans do routinely?

Sez the Commie.

Healthcare is a separate issue from how it's paid for you retard.

Question, do you have one of those "insurance" policies that pay for car or home repairs and maintenance?

Right you stupid idiot.

if you say 'get rid of all forms of insurance', then how will health care be paid for by the working poor who have no savings?

Yes you nitwit that is the question that follows from your comment of 'get rid of all insurance'.

So what is your answer dunce?

I'm not saying get rid of all insurance. I'm saying dump it for routine medical care, or anything else for that matter.

So again, i ask what that means for the working poor and below who have no savings?

How do they get "routine medical care", or "anything else", which i assume means all other health care that is not routine?
