Biggest Bogus Fees You Have Come Across...

In terms of harshness of marijuana laws, Watermark lives in Mississippi, a metaphorical oasis in the South for its policy of decriminalization. Possession is virtually never punishable by jail time, in stark, bleak contrast with other states.

I have personally asked our current Attorney General, Troy King, if he considered mandatory minimum sentences (ranging from 3-5 years) for possession or sale of marijuana in certain areas to be an effective deterrent.

He responded that he did in fact, find them to be an effective deterrent and said he recommended incarceration over rehabilitation in drug cases.

There's too many problems with how they come up with their "solutions". They do it more because it's popular and sounds good than because it's effective. And they always need to change things - if we had the perfect sentencing laws, that resulted in perfectly fair punishment and 0% recividism, you can bet that in 4 years the legislator would find need for newer, more draconian ones.
