He does make sense in what he says. I think the problem is far more complex than he let on, but that would be difficult to discuss in so short a clip.
I will take up an argument with the video clip he showed of the american born al-quada fellow. That guy said you can go to a gun show and buy a fully automatic firearm. This is absolutely not true.

And one of them is a libertarian who has been shooting for 4.5 decades. I understand the paranoia of the gun owners. I share it. But I also realize that we have a serious problem that must be addressed somehow.
The first thing I think we need to do is a huge and drastic upgrade on our mental health system. And that will take tax dollars, which you will object to, but will make a big difference.

Actually what is scary but understandable I that people think there is something that could have prevented this. There is no amount of gun laws. There is no amount of mental health care. You have to think these things through before you say them. What would you do, have everyone screened on a regular basis? Looking for what?
Sometime bad shit happens by crazy people. It just is. It is best to just part for the families rather giving up more of OU already eroded liberties

Its nice that you know, and are absolutely sure, that nothing could have been done. This guy obviously has a screw loose. Perhaps, just perhaps, he could have gotten help before it caused the deaths of so many.
Of course I am not talking about screenings for everyone. Don't be daft. But having mental health care available, and affordable, could do plenty to alleviate some of the issues for so many.

How do you propose he get that help? Did he go looking for help and couldn't find it? Should someone have said "he is acting weird I think he might shoot some people"? And then what? What would that open the door to?
I understand the human nature in events like these to think they could have been prevented. People have a difficult time processing because they wonder "how could someone have done this?". Sometimes, unfortunately there are no answers and no amount of mental health treatment is going to stop a crazy hell bent on doing something crazy.
You must balance your desire to prevent these types of things with the unintended consequences and limits on freedom that always follow the desire to prevent the next whacko.
