I agree will Bill, its also about shared sacrifices too, not just other peoples sacrifices! With a draft in place, it will also ensure we don't have anymore Iraq's, a war of choice, not necessity!!!

Now, that's funny. It's very obvious Obama has a hard time making any decisions other than keep campaigning and whining. He better get on the stick and make some decision about Afghanistan.
 
This is one instance where I agree with Democrats, but of course for different reasons. Democrats hate the military and think that this will damage it and make it unpopular with Americans.

I'd like to see all young men and woman be drafted to commit 2 years to the military, and put them all through boot camp. Those that fail can join the Peace Corps, work in shelters for the homeless, work on WPA type projects, or cook, clean, and provide support for the troops. Only the best would be considered for combat related services, and then they'd have to volunteer for it.

That is laughable coming from someone who never didn't have the balls to step up and volunteer when he was young. Now that he is too old, he wants everyone else to serve.
 
I had a conversation with a gal that I've known for a long time about her two sons, now seniors and my son's age about college costs and the military options. She's advising her sons against it because of the incompetence of our current CIC, as well as his obvious hatred of the military.

That someone chooses not to join the military is not necessarily a bad thing.

But to choose not to go into the military and then later talk about the glories of war, talk about looking forward to a civil war, and to demean those who did serve is the height of hypocracy and cowardice.

The draft only takes those between the ages of 18 and 26, unless it is an extreme case during a major war.

Volunteering for the military will take those as old as 33, but no older.
