Someone can state a fact in an organization. If the leader or director thinks it has the potential to damage the image, he/she does a damage control.

So once AGAIN they the organization thinks the gov is a racist but apologized for it because they wanted to look good. So you're saying there is no strength in their convictions because they woukd rather look good to .....Blacks? Racists? Who exactly?

Here's the thing if the term racist applies to the gov there is no reason to apologize. If however the word is used simply as a political weapon then yiu just look like an asshole.

Once again it's irrelevant and not the point, the apology is. You yourself said the govs words and actions make you think he's a racist and at least one member of the board agrees with you. The chair apologized to the gov for the comment so you're suggesting the chair doesn't think he's a racist. So we have a dilemma. You and at least one board member think the gov is racist and the chair doesn't. You can't both be right. So what this suggests to us is that the term racist is used by dimwitted idiots to avoid dealing with actual issues.

I do not think he is an active or conscious racist. I think some of his policies have implications that make racism worse, and I suspect he knows it, but is willing to do it for power.

Disagreed; I think DeSantis knows exactly what he's doing. He's playing the race card for political gain. In this case, throwing red meat to the white supremacist, anti-gay, antisemitic demographic that is the backbone of the Party of Trump.

The gov doesnt consult with me so I have no clue what is reasoning is and again I'm not here to defend him. What I do know is board member called the gov a racist and the chair felt compelled to apologize. You say it's public relations ie: make them look good. That certainly is a change in dynamic that the Black Advisory Board would apologize for a member calling a racist gov a racist.
