Side note: I would like to know more about who accused Obama of being complicit in the attacks on 9/11. Given that he was a community organizer at the time, I find that bizarre that anyone would have stated anything of the kind and would be interested in seeing where you got that from.

Yes, there is a seperate set of laws for muslims, as there is for jews, and christians, and native americans as well.

The problem with your argument though is that muslims as well as all others in this country are ALSO ruled by U.S, state and local laws.

Sharia law does not replace laws here, and has no legal standing here. Never has, never will.

It's wrong to allow Sharia Law in the USA even if muslims agree to abide by it. We cannot abide two sets of laws, one special set of laws for a religion and one set of laws for everyone else. Indian tribes are natives and a separate nation. Islam is not a seperate nation in the USA. I don't know of any Christians or Jews who have a separate court system. You'll have to inform me of that.

If both parties agree to arbitration over a civil issue, they are following the law.

That violates the separation of church and state.

Sharia law is not necessarily religious, it's just the kind of law that developed in the Islamic world.

Much of civil law and even criminal law isn't specifically passed by lawmakers. Anyway, arbitration by a third party is specifically allowed by our laws. I personally think arbitration should be banned, and our civil law system should be expedited, but that's just me. I don't support the system conservatives seem to, which seems to consist of allowing arbiters regulating arbiters to ensure that none of them have funny sounding names.

All U.S. laws (fed, state, local) aply to everyone in this country, whether muslim, christian, martian or whatever, unless one holds diplomatic status.

No muslims are excempt from any of our laws, and Sharia law has is NOT recognised by ANY U.S. court.

As part of their religious freedom, they are entitled to practice their own laws as well, just as jews and christian may do. However, U.S. law always overides Sharia law, and always will.

You have nothing to fear from sharia law, nor do you have the right to oppose sharia law.
To do so violates seperation of church and state, as well as religious freedom.

You have been misled by Glen Beck and his ilk.

Had you chosen to think independently, we would not be having this argument, for you would have realized that Beck is nothing but a fear mongering money grubber.

It's not a separate set of laws for Muslims. It's voluntary (a Muslim could choose not to and a non-Muslim could choose to), it's allowed by our laws, and sharia isn't necessarily religious.
