Not that this is really to brag about, but Wallace also became the first governor of Alabama to appoint TWO blacks to cabinet positions. A number that has since been equaled but never surpassed.

I just finished reading Stephan Lesher's biography on George Wallace two days ago as a matter of fact. Kind of interesting to read that Wallace knew segregation was coming to an end even as he was saying "segregation now, segregation tomorrow..." In fact his actions ironically brought segregation to an end quicker in Alabama even though it benefitted him personally. It is interesting that he got such a large number of black votes during his final run for Governor.

He carried 9 of 10 of the counties with black majorities. In some cases by a 2-1 margin.

Some blacks like Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton, who have been paid well to sell out their own people, things have gotten better for black elites, but for the common black person it has continued to be status quo
 
Jesse Jackson and al sharpton are 100 better thuman beings than the ones who run your party.

The fact that you use their names like curse words when they mean so much to the black commmunity is yet more proof of your racism.

I have no illusion that blacks will leave the democrat party any time soon for the GOP. I don't see anything from the GOP that would make me want to go back.

Here is how I think the GOP should do it

1) The GOP need not be afraid to go into black neighborhoods to campaign and I don't mean for their safety so get that out of your dingbat head. Too many feel like they are going to lose the vote anyway, so why spend the resources. Well, that is never going to get it done.
2) Forget pandering it will not work and you cannot out democrat the democrats
3) The area where the democrats are weakest with blacks is education. When forced to choose between constituencies, the democrats choose teachers unions over black kids. Why? Teachers unions pay dues which ultimately fund democrat campaigns. Black kids don't donate money to democrats. The GOP should have a steady attack of freedom of choice in education. Use the democrats words against them. Keep hammering the word CHOICE. Make the democrats own it.
4) Start doing Townhalls in predominantly black communities and explain why democrat regulations and taxes are strangling opportunity and how lower regulations will improve their lives (tougher sell but it has to be done)

The vote is there to be had if the GOP chooses to. Leave the demalqeudacrats like Desh to keep playing their petty games of fear so blacks will never want to leave the safety of the democrat plantation. Desh probably remembers when her forebearer slaveowners used to tell the slaves how bad they would have it if they ever left the plantation. It is no different than what Desh does to blacks today. DOn't leave the democrat party, you won't make it. It is so insulting, condescending and paternalistic. Now, if blacks are happy being treated that way (and so far it looks like they are) then so be it.
 
if blacks are so important to the democrats, why is it that the first black leader in the democrat party didn't show up until they found one that was "story book" (i.e. "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man")........

does that mean all the blacks that vote to put those white Democrats in office aren't articulate or clean or nice-looking?.......or is it just that they weren't mainstream enough........
