is it a necessity to become a baby sitter needing wimp to live in a 'civilized society'? or is it just your preference to do so? seriously, I was taught heavy duty first aid when i was growing up, then combat first aid as a marine and i've been under fire.....so what is it about those of you that feel 'only ones' that are highly trained should be the overlords of your actions in society? there is absolutely nothing wrong with someone NOT a government employee being able to do all the things that a lifeguard or paramedic can do and NOT be viewed as some sort of nutcase survivalist.

And yes, you can be able to do all the things that a lifeguard or paramedic can do and NOT (emphasis in original) be viewed as some sort of nutcase survivalist. But that's not the only mark against you in the either the nutcase or survivalist columns, chief.

Wolf Blitzer didn't "blame the Tea Party." He was speculating on possibilities - as everyone did yesterday. CNN also reported that the synchronized bombing could have been a sign of Al Qaeda - that doesn't mean they were "blaming Al Qaeda."

I mean, if only everyone had STY's parents to teach them "heavy duty first aid" as a child and not teach them things like empathy, human emotion, normalcy, and the like, we'd be much better off.

Do you have evidence that you have empathy in a greater measure specifically because you haven't been trained in first aid? That those who have been trained to respond in emergencies lack this? Stats and studies would be nice for you to link to...

I think you're kind of missing the gist of my post there, Damo. Here's a hint: it's not a commentay on the characteristics of individuals who receive instruction and training in first aid, heavy duty or otherwise.
