Second while not particularly useful after a hurricane, paper towels can be useful. So answer me this, in what way at all was it helpful for people who just lost their homes to hear that imbecile Brandon ALMOST lost something in a fire. What Biden did is very much normal human interaction. People when dealing with anyone suffering a loss tend to share their own losses. A person dealing with cancer will get stories from others of their cancer journey. Etc, etc.
It is not a contest. They do not have to be the same of comparable. the devastation or harm does not have to be the same. It is simply how people naturally try to share empathy, mostly not in a conscious way.
What Trump did is mocking and trite and is creating a circus atmosphere in a time of devastation. Creating a jump ball situation where people desperate for scarce supplies will be competing with the person standing beside them to grab one of the few needed items, is simply mean, and could lead to conflicts or fights. It shows a lack of compassion and empathy by a person who only cares about HIS photo op.
I don't say that solely to pick on Trump. It is very much the GOP way. Mass gun shooting in your district... flock to the scene for the photo op, say some words about how this must stop, and as soon as the camera's are gone immediately scoop up as much money from the gun lobby as you can and switch to blocking anything and everything that could actually impact gun availability and violence. FLock to the scene of a train wreck, say some words of consultation and as soon as the camera's are gone, scoop in as much money from the Rail Lobby and vote against everything that would massively improve train safety but boost profits.
it is not a uniquely GOP thing but it overwhelmingly a GOP thing.

What Biden did was completely unacceptable... and if you listen to reactions from the people who suffered tragic losses there, not appreciated... I'm sure they were grateful when he finally left to resume his vacation...He couldn't even stay alert and interested during the memorial service....
