I agree with most of what you say here...BUT...

..."ramming it through" is not about how much time it is taking. A confirmation should take as long as it should take. (Yeah, an appropriate tautology.)

"Ramming it through" as I am using it means voting on confirmation BEFORE appropriate investigation into matters that deserve investigation prior to the vote.

Gang rape is a serious allegation that is going to take a substantial amount of corroborating evidence to convince me.

Conservatives are the types to immediately believe any rumour, any scurrilous gossip, and unsubstantiated and uncorroborated claim...but only if it is an accusation against a liberal, a perceived enemy, a Democrat.

I will let them corner the market on dishonesty, gossip, and dishonor.
