No Republican believes they will win a primary with trump running. Christie is getting donations, so he'll troll trump for as long as he can.
He's not currently in politics, so he has no worries about criticizing trump. AND...statewide elections are not as dangerous for trump antagonists as localized elections are.
All 25 of his supporters were deeply saddened.
Most Trumper are very unhappy with Trump ism, and the way he behaves, but the situation in the Republican Party, is such that the Second, you grow a pair of balls, and stand up to Trump, you’re out.

He's kind of in politics - he's running for president. But he's got no chance because he bashed trump who the magas have ordained as their desired "president for life".

Christie won't win because he's trump without a modicum of impulse control when it comes to food.
He was an asshole governor with a terrible track record.
He's just as spiteful as trump, but he doesn't have the self promotion digs.
He's in it to troll trump, and hopefully expose the man behind the curtain.
He's not playing to trump's base. Nobody is. Thankfully, trump told them not to bother to vote last week.
He's a bully, like trump, but without the fake populism.
Christie is blatantly corrupt, and trump is far more blatantly corrupt.
Pence is arguably not corrupt. It is a sad statement on how low we have set the bar that him doing the minimum required of his office (and I do mean the absolute minimum) makes him one of the best Republicans.
