(CNN) - Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, has withdrawn her name from consideration for secretary of state, President Barack Obama said in a Thursday statement.
Obama wrote in the statement, "For two decades, Susan has proven to be an extraordinarily capable, patriotic, and passionate public servant."
She was considered the frontrunner for the post, which Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she would vacate as soon as a successor is confirmed.
My guess is that Obama will select another person who shouldn't have the job. He doesn't seem to like to pick people like Kerry that are actually supported.
