I'm embarrassed to say that I have at least a hundred feature films in the obsolete VHS format,
predating DVDs. I used to buy them all the time back in the day.
Not only that, but I even have an S-Video to HDMI converter which allows me to play them on modern video display or TV.
By modern standards, however, the video quality looks no better that "kinescope,"
if anybody here even remembers what that is.
{In the pre video tape days, TV shows were recorded by actually filming the image of a cathode ray screen.]
You can see examples of kinescope on YouTube if you like.
Watch an old "Honeymooners" or "Amos and Andy" show.
Or an early 1950s boxing match.
Offspring #2 can't understand why I don't just throw them all away,
but I paid good money for those.
Now I'm suddenly reminded of those TV ads about turning into our parents.
I'm considering going back to bed.
