British envoy: U.S. "hell bent" on war w/ Iraq

Hi Cawacko,

I haven't always agreed with you as regards politics but I've never found you to be anything less than polite and well mannered both here and on the WOT board. I have a very early start in the morning as I have to drive to Inverness in the north of Scotland and the weather is looking to be especially foul tomorrow. I will elaborate further at length but I will give you a taster by referring you to this website and the following extract from it.

In retrospect, an invasion of Britain would have been the decisive land/sea/air battle of all time. The fate of the entire world could have rested on the outcome of the battle because, Hitler, if he could have conquered Britain at that time, might not have been stoppable anywhere in the world.

Thanks for the post Tom. Unfortuanately I wasn't able to access any internet site. If you get a chance when the time allows I would love to hear your side of the story. While it's definitely possible I would disagree with you I would hope to be open-minded enough to at least hear you out fully and understand where you are coming from.

Tom Prendergasp!

It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Tom! :lmao:

Now if they could only remove the chickenshit from between your ears, you remain alive and maybe regain a small amount of rationality....

Wish him dead? We only wish the same amount of vile shit be piled upon his head as he has been doing for the past 8 years. The heart thing seems to be good old fashioned karma and when no one is looking and he's screwing the top on his last prescription bottle he knows it in the last per cent of his rotten heart.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441 is a United Nations Security Council resolution adopted unanimously by the United Nations Security Council on November 8, 2002

Resolution 1441 stated that Iraq was in material breach of the ceasefire terms presented under the terms of Resolution 687. Iraq's breaches related not only to weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), but also the known construction of prohibited types of missiles, the purchase and import of prohibited armaments, and the continuing refusal of Iraq to compensate Kuwait for the widespread looting conducted by its troops during the 1991 invasion and occupation. It also stated that "...false statements or omissions in the declarations submitted by Iraq pursuant to this resolution and failure by Iraq at any time to comply with, and cooperate fully in the implementation of, this resolution shall constitute a further material breach of Iraq's obligations.

You ask, "Why do people work so hard to try to get the Bush admin off the hook?"....and I ask, "Why do people try so hard to blame only Bush"?....

UN Resolution 1441 is only one of dozens of Security Council resolutions, adopted unanimously, against Saddam .....dozens... adopted unanimously .... does that fact actually ever penetrate the skulls of Bush haters?

While I agree the Bush was fed up with the UN and didn't seek the permission of world before he acted, I say "so what"....some one eventually has to make a stand.
Was there disagreement about Iraq's WMD capability? Yes...

For every Scott Ritter, or Hans Blix, there were 10+ United Nations Security Council resolutions adopted unanimously against Saddam concerning WMD....who were the worlds leaders to side with.....?
Dozens of UN resolutions against Saddam....., NIE's that warned of Iraqi WMD,....world-wide intell that generally agreed on Iraq's WMD....Saddams own claims.....or Scott Ritter?

The choice was made and it no doubt was wrong about WMD, ,,,thats the way it goes.... no one ever promised that US Presidents were infallable...i.e. Obama.....

Be that as it may....the fuckin' murderer Saddam is dead and thats justice served....

You leave out (as expected) that Resolution 1441 GIVES THE FINAL APPROVAL FOR MILITARY ACTION TO THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL, AND NOT THE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.

http://www.edwardjayne.com/iraq/illegal.html

You also leave out the FACT that upon COMPLETION of his mission, Ritter publically stated that though he believed Hussein had intentions, he neither had the material or resources to utilize or rebuild a WMD surplus. Blix repeatedly asked the CIA for information to facilitate his mission, and was refused. Blix was INTERRUPTED by the Shrub invasion.

Again THE UN RESOLUTIONS all lead to the UN inspectors on the ground and a containment scenario. Also, you may want to do your homework better next time, because the UN condemned the US jumping the gun as a violation of the agreement.
