Bucket list getting filled

let me help you. left is wrong. the gyrocompass in a leftist mind is spinning backwards. it is a death spiral fail every time. time after time.

Thanks Gomer! But, you haven't convinced me with your hatred and rhetoric except you are a hater who will just say anything easy to say!

I just got back from a week in Germany and am able to check off several items on my bucket list.

  • Drove on several unlimited sections of the Autobahn, my fastest speed a leisurely 185 kph.
  • Skied the glacier at the top of Zugspitze.
  • Attended a World Cup downhill (womens).
  • Skied the Kandahar.
  • Visited Liechtenstein (one of four countries that day).
  • Visited one of my ancestral homes, including a working dairy farm still operated by my distant cousins.

Why didn't you visit one of Hitler's concentration camps - or where Reagan destroyed the Berlin wall?

Prices were amazingly cheap.
  • Rented a BMW 520 Wagon for the week for $100 (bundled with the flight). Insurance was expensive though at $30/ day, and that was with 1200 Euro deductible.
  • Three bedroom, 2 bath condo with full kitchen (including a full size dishwasher) was $1000 through AirBnB. Split between two couples cost me $500.
  • Food/ beer/ wine/ booze was cheap everywhere, especially at the Lidl supermarket. Almost everything was about 1/2 of what the same store sells here.

Only exception was gasoline, which was about $5/ gallon.

Now, my wife wants to live there for three or six months when we are retired. I told her that I would have to get European delivery of a new Porsche so we'll have something to drive, then have it shipped home. We're currently negotiating this deal, suggesting that I buy a used one over there then sell it before we leave. :palm:

Wow! Those prices are amazingly cheap! I can't get over that car rental for the WHOLE week! That's amazing!

He's to afraid to have an opinion on much of anything.

He's one that believes the high standard of living in those countries is brought about by socialism. In those countries, they have socialized medicine but that high standard of living is brought about by capitalism. If socialism brought about such a high standard of living, the government housing in the U.S. would be mansions not hellholes overrun with crime.

There is also a vastly different culture in these countries, with kindred ancestry, work ethic and strong Christian tradition. All factors that the Left detests.

I bet you think the Nordic countries are socialist.

"All Nordic countries also have highly-developed hospital services. Nordic healthcare systems are taxation based, and locally administrated with every citizen having equal access to services. All countries, however, require co-payments by patients for hospital care and medicines.

Which is it?

Those Nordic countries tend to be ethnically and culturally homogeneous. They have common goals, a common heritage, and want to work together. In the U.S., the groups that aren't successful want to blame those that are as the cause of their failures then expect those successful groups to offset that.

They are capitalist countries with socialist medicine. The high standard of living there isn't due to socialism. If socialism worked like that, all the government housing we have here would be mansions and the freeloading food stamp recipients would eat gourmet meals 3x/day. What we have is shitholes overrun with crime and freeloaders begging because someone else didn't provide their lazy asses with what they demand.

Oh.

Democrats cater to the unsuccessful groups by giving them free stuff and telling them that that their problems are due to the successful people. If that influence would go away the unsuccessful would learn quickly how to become successful.

That or wonder what happened as they wasted away. Either way the problem is solved.
