What?
Only a fucking lawyer could come up with some bullshit like this. This is how Clinton convinced you folks that he wasn't really having sex.
Is my kitchen committing a crime if I failed to get permits?

BTW, how do you think they should determine if someone is here illegally or not?
Now here is how I would handle illegal immigration
1) If you can't prove legal status you can't enter our educational system
2) If you can't prove legal status you can't apply for ANY welfare benefits, food stamps, housing etc.
3) If you can't prove your legal status you can't be hired by an employer. Any employer and I mean ANY employer found to hire an illegal alien will be fined $100,000 per illegal alien per instance.
That will fix the problem tomorrow. There will be a mass migration out of this country and they will self deport.
Just remove the magnet and they will leave. No need to stop anyone, no need to hunt anyone down. Problem solved.
To date, Elian Gonzalez remains the only hispanic liberals endorse deporting.
What's that tell you?
ITs going to make it very difficult for Republicans to get anykinda elected.
ITs semantics, being here without legal permission is illegal in the same way my new kitchen is illegal if I built it without permits.

Nobody wants them to leave... that's the point.

Did your kitchen make the conscious decision to build itself?

(b) Improper time or place; civil penalties Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of - (1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or (2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection.
I wonder if these are the types if arguments he tries when he represents his clients. If so, I feel sorry for them.
examples?I think the outrage is mostly about how the states are going about determining if they are here legally or not.
say what? isn't 'illegal' pretty much the definition of a criminal act?Just because you are doing something that is not "legal" does not necessarily mean you are committing a crime.
ITs semantics, being here without legal permission is illegal in the same way my new kitchen is illegal if I built it without permits.
Surprising? Not at all. For 5 years, they pander to the extreme Right Wing by refusing to address anything that the POTUS wants to pass....even when he's handing them their own pet issues on a silver platter. So it would do nothing good for them politically is what you are saying. Surprising then they don't want to pass it?

Again...they choose to pander to their base, out of fear of the Tea Party minority.
Bad, bad move.
