Calif. Bans Smoking in Cars With Kids

String would argue that you can't actually prove second hand smoke is harmful.

Well it is sort of difficult, considering all the other carcenogens and such we are all exposed to.

I expect that lung cancer, asthma, and "smiking related" illensses will not go away if smoking did.

It's a toss up. Lot's of people smoke with their window cracked so the smoke escapes the vehicle. The motion of the car makes the window like a vacuum and the smoke immediatly escapes the vehicle. My dad used to open the wing window on his pickup and it had that same effect. I never delt with his smoke while in the car, it was actually less likely to effect me than if I were standing next to him outdoors.

yeah, let the smoke out for others to breath, and where does it go when the vehicle is stopped in traffic

i can not tell you just how much i appreciate people smoking next to me when stopped in traffic - especially cigar smokers

yeah, those darn exhaust pipes and thumper stereos...
cig smoke is the least of my worries in traffic. I worry more about the brain dead person too busy talking on their cellphone to drive safely.
